Sabastian Kimaru Sawe

« You see Sabastian. He’s very calm. But when he runs… », Claudio Baradelli, coach

Sabastian Kimaru Sawe is a Kenyan long-distance runner born in 1996. In March 2022, he set a record in the Rome-Ostia half-marathon in 58 minutes 02 seconds. But the race was not officially registered and therefore could not be used as a record. Some time later, he set his best official time at the Royal Night Half Marathon in Bahrain in 58 minutes 58 seconds, a half marathon which he also won.
In September 2022, Sabastian set the Kenyan national one-hour record at the Memorial Van Damme with a distance covered of 21,250 meters, narrowly missing out on the world record.

Winner of numerous marathons, including those in Rome, Seoul and more recently London in 2022, the athlete is a serious contender for the podium at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
